History

The Belgian trade activities of the van Hoorebeke group can be traced back to the middle of the 18th century. The first import of sawn timber by sea from Riga to Ghent-Langerbrugge dates back to 1842. 
 
van Hoorebeke Timber NV and van Hoorebeke Panels NV along with SIDOCO NV and TIMCOR NV make up a dynamic group with a shared objective of developing the distribution of timber and panels of all shapes and sizes.

1740 : Brewery
1770 : Start of the trade in construction materials
1842 : Import of sawn timber via Riga
1845 : Establishment of a sawmill in Gent-Langerbrugge
1865 : van Hoorebeke Frères is founded
1904 : The company name is changed to van Hoorebeke en Zoon
1936 : nv van Hoorebeke en Zoon is founded
1967 : nv Sidoco is founded
1974 : nv Isipan (panel materials) is founded
1989 : nv Timcor, Timber Corporation Holding, is founded
1999 : nv van Hoorebeke & Zoon takes to the Internet
2000 : nv van Hoorebeke & Zoon changes to van Hoorebeke Timber nv
2000 : nv Isipan changes to van Hoorebeke Panels NV
2006 : the Ghent warehouse is moved to the new warehouses on 
           the Kluizendok
